A True Friend...

This was posted on my friend Josh Kelly's Facebook wall this morning. I thought it was awesome and needed to be told on here.

"A true friend in need should always be a top priority. Do whatever it takes to help them through what they have going on because they will recognize what you are doing. It will make the friendship stronger and they will return the favor when you are down. Let go and confide in your true friend because they need to know that the can confide in you. Make them laugh because they need to know you know how to.

Lastly... Make it forever because everyone needs that person that the can call whenever. A rock on which to rest when you are tired. A shoulder on which to cry when you are sad. An unbendable soul when the times are tough and you don't know where to go from here. Go to your true friend and truly start the day."

What do you think?

Rough Waters Ahead

George and I have been together for 3 years and 6 months. I believe that we still love each other but things are not the way they use to be. I feel we are more like roommates than Florida Visit 016boyfriends. We hardly ever do anything together anymore and all we really talk about is who pays what this month.

The first talk of separating came during my first CP Program.  Things were tough and we had a long conversation about how I felt and how different we are now. I told him we should hang in there until I return and see how things go. Things have not gotten any better. We don’t fight, something we have never done, but our relationship seems tired, like a dead battery with no spark.

The biggest issue between us is moving. We both want to leave Fort Lauderdale. I want to move to Orlando and he wants to go to Boston. We both want to be near our friends. If we stay in Fort Lauderdale, neither of us will be happy. If we both move to one of those locations, then the other would be unhappy. So what do we do?

I feel that this coming Summer Florida Visit 011Program will end everything. I will get there and not want to leave. I will extend and find reasons to stay, other than the best friends in the world. And he will want to go to Boston and continue his Poker playing. At this point in our lives, we are holding each other back from doing what we really want to do.

I don’t think it will end badly though. If it does, we will still be great friends, just several states away. Luckily, I will have great people by my side to lean on and to keep happiness in my life. Whatever happens, it is for the better and I would not change any moment of the past three years.

21 Days…

I have 21 days left until I check into the Walt Disney World College Program for the second time. I have 16 days left until my current job (Bahia Mar Beach Resort) is done, probably for ever. The days have been going by slowly. The occupancy at work has dropped to barely 50 percent and we just stand around, surfing the internet. I need Disney and its wonderful parks to stimulate my brain again.

I have found a roommate! Mr. Matty B says that we can live together. He will go to the housing office on the 29th to let them know of our request. I cannot wait. That is the good news.

I joined a Facebook group dedicated to College Program Alumni who are doing the Summer Program (May 18th to August 15th). I found some who were willing to look me up on the Hub under contacts. My info is listed as All Star Sports Goofy. I worked at All Star Resorts as a Front Desk Agent on my last program. It was a great job but I was really hoping to get the parks this time. I felt that I missed out on the park experience my first program. They get to do special parties and ride times for park cast members. Guest don’t go to Walt Disney World to see they hotels. They want to parks!

I’m hoping that it only says All Star because that is where I was in the Fall and not my assigned location. I sent an email to a College Program Recruiter but I have not heard back. :( It’s all a waiting game.

I am just happy to get to experience it all over again. This time, Gay Days and Star Wars Weekends will be the highlights of my journey!

For That Irritating Passenger

If you’re sitting next to someone on a plane who irritates you, try doing this:

  1. Quietly and calmly open up your laptop case.
  2. Remove your laptop.
  3. Start it up.
  4. Make sure the fellow traveler who is annoying you can see the screen.
  5. Close your eyes and tilt your head up to the sky and move your lips like you are praying.
  6. Then click here.

*I strongly advise against actually doing this, unless you would like to end up in prison.

Grandma Still Teaches Yoga at 83

This old lady is Awesome!! I hope that I am this strong when I’m 80 years old. I have never done Yoga but perhaps I should start. She has been doing it for more than 40 years and is in better shape than me. I’m 23 years old!

Who am I kidding. I am too lazy to work out. Every time I start, I quite after a week or two. I will probably be a fat old man, with high blood pressure and a bad heart, being rolled around with an oxygen tank. What a life that would be. :(

Two More Bloggers!!

My friends Ali and Jessie have joined the blogging community and started publishing. How exciting for me!

Now I have more blogs to read when I have nothing better to do. Wonder how many more I can get?

This is an awesome hotel! Perfect for KSloss.

Pinocchio Paradox. How would the Blue Fairy handle this one?

Some Chinese lessons. lol

I love StumbleUpon and think everyone should sign up!

Celebrity...Or is He?

I just checked Jeff Mackenroth into my hotel. My co-worker saw his ID and told me who he was. I did not believe him (I cannot remember faces). But sure enough, when I typed his name in google, there he was.
For those of you who do not know, Jeff was on an earlier season of Project Runway. Unfortunately, he had to leave the show early due to medical reasons. It was sad.
Why he decided to stay at my hotel is beyond me. What made it even more strange was the fact that he booked our cheapest room through Orbitz.com. I, of course, gave him an upgrade and made sure everyone in the back offices knew he was here.
Perhaps I should get an autograph. I do have his signature on his registration card, but my manager has already claimed that. :( I could always misplace that one and have him sign another...for me.

Wizards of Waverly Place

So I just found out (from Glennys) that the cast of Wizards of Waverly Place were at one of my company’s hotels in Puerto Rico, the Condado Plaza, filming their new movie.

I wish I had known that they were there cause I might just have paid the 50 dollars a night that I get at our resorts and stalked David Henrie (he’s legal; check IMDB).

I don’t really watch the show but I have seen a few episodes. It’s an ok show. Not as bad as some of the other crap that Disney has on their channel now (Hannah Montana). I’d say Wizards and Phil of the Future (Ricky Ullman is hot and legal) are the only shows I’ll watch, if I cannot find something else on.

Anyways, the Condado Plaza is an amazing hotel (now a Conrad) and I am jealous. Disney treats their real Cast Members like gold and I am now too old to get in on that. smile_sad My only hope is that one day my child will become a Disney Channel star and I can ride his/her coattails. That would be sweet.

My Friends Perry and Glennys

So my friends Perry and Glennys started a blog today. I now am friends with four bloggers. smile_regular I like how they mentioned me in their first blog ever!  Glennys even mentioned me in her blog description! Lol.

I am glad that Perry has decided to move back to Orlando. It is where I truly belong as well but it will take me a bit longer to get moved there permanently. I’m glad to be going back for the summer. I really hope Glennys is planning on moving there as well. She is the best!

I’m going to get as many people as I can to start blogging in here. I got Ali thinking about starting one again.

Two Weeks Notice

I turned in my two weeks notice today. My last day at Bahia Mar Beach Resort will be May 13th. My first day at Walt Disney World will be May 18th. I am planning to go up early to see some of my friends that are leaving May 15th. I need to find a place to crash.

It's strange. I worked at this hotel for 3 years and in two weeks, it will be over. I may try to reapply once my time with Disney has finished. I'll probably look somewhere else. I really hate this place.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim is the best thing on television!

Right now, I am watching a skit on Hannah Montana and she has been murdered by a crazy fan. The episode is about her friends attempting to get “Miley” to her school exam (cause they want to keep her secret) and the chaos that ensued when they lost her body.

I tried to post the video in the blog but I was having some difficulties. So I put it as a hyperlink instead.

My friend Kelsey loves Hannah and I posted this for her to watch.

Enjoy!

Middle School Journal

I found my journal that I kept during middle and high school. I only read the first paragraph of the first page and felt I needed to talk about it. I want people to see how sad my life was when I was younger. I was bullied quite often. The following is right out of my journal.

“Today, in science, two kids, Chiqutia and Chris, allowed me to help with their Super Cell and they used some of my ideas. Me and Chris sometimes don’t get along to well and this was the first time we did something together without arguing…Me and Logan P. I think are becoming great friends. He never insults me much any more”.

Much any more? I was picked on so much that I thought this was ok. Him picking on me less meant he was becoming my friend. How tragic.

There are lots of interesting things in this journal. The most interesting, and most detailed, is was my time with my first boyfriend. It hurts me even now to think that I let him treat me the way that he did.

The entries jump around. There are large gaps between dates and some computer typed/printed pages that were folded and slipped in. I was so different then. I have definitely grown up and matured. Unfortunately, I am not as close to anyone in the journals as I was then. I still talk to most of them, online, when I see them.

Never take your friends for granted and make sure they know you still care for them. I wish I had.

This is my first mobile post. Just wanted to see how it works. :)

Windows Live Writer (For Monique)

Before I even started writing this blog, I downloaded Windows Live Writer and it’s the best thing ever! It makes publishing blogs so easy.

All of my past blogs are listed by post order in the side pane. Below them are my “Insert” options (Hyperlink, Pictures, Videos, etc). What makes it easy? For instance, when I click on Hyperlink, it asks for the website and then right underneath, there is a box for typing what you want the link to be called in your post (ex. Windows Live Writer as I typed above). It even has an option for downloading more plugins such as Polaroid Picture

and Windows Live Messenger Smilies smile_wink. It’s pretty amazing. It also has a Font editor so you can change colors and fonts right from the writing screen.

The best part is, I don’t have to be signed into my blog to post. I just open Windows Live Writer and it will publish to my blog automagically (a Disney word). I have tested it. It posts within seconds of hitting the “Publish” button. There’s even an option to view your blog before you post it. It shows it in the Live Writer window just as it would look on your blog page.

It’s not just for Blogger.com either. It gives you several different Blog options when you set up your account. I only have one blog but you can have multiple blogs linked to Live Writer account and switch between them with a drop down screen.

I recommend this to all bloggers, especially beginners like Monique and myself. It’s FREE and easy to download.

Follower Widget

So there is this widget that you can add to your profile that allows readers to subscribe to (follow) your blog.

I am currently following two awesome bloggers (Ksloss and Monique) and at this point in time, only Ksloss is following me. I know Monique will follow once she logs on again. It’s a great way to keep track of bloggers that you discover online and for other bloggers to keep track of your posts.

I encourage everyone to download this widget if you have not done so already.

Twitter

I still not really sure of the point of Twitter. It’s like Facebook without all the other stuff. Kelsey uses it all the time so I figured I’d give it a shot. What have I got to loose? I wonder if Monique has Twitter?

Alice in Wonderland

This song is hypnotic! Watch Alice in Wonderland on Youtube. I discovered it using the StumbleUpon button. Actually, I have found quite a few interesting things using this service. It’s fantastic! It helps pass the time when you have nothing better to do.

Fort Lauderdale Beach

Tell me why a live a block west of the beach but I never go? I can see the Intracoastal Waterway (with its massive yachts) from my balcony and lots of beach goers parking their cars in the city parking lot. On my back from eating, I decided to drive the beach road home. OMG! Hotness everywhere and instead of coming home, changing into swimming trunks, and walking to the beach, I am sitting at my computer, blogging about it. What is wrong with me?!

My favorite time to go to the beach is right before dusk. There are less people and I can fly my trick kite without hitting one in the face. It’s usually much cooler by then.

I think the problem is that I drive everyday. I have not really driven my car in weeks. I walk to work (like 10 minutes away) and back. I just take it all for granted and need to go out there more. Perhaps if some people I know would visit me, I’d be more inclined.

My First Blog (Thanks KSloss)

Thank you Kelsey for turning me on to the world of blogging. I am not really sure what to say.

I’m super excited about my second Disney College Program that will be starting May 18th. My last program ended in January and I just could not stay away any longer. I will be working Merchandise this time instead of Resorts, which I am ok with. Kelsey seemed to enjoy herself. I really hope that I am in a park this time. I feel that I missed out on something special during my last program. I will being giving my two weeks notice on May 1st. For the first program (FAll 2008), I got a Leave of Absence from my employer from August to January. That was a great thing because I got to keep my insurance. Now, for this program, I will have none. I hope I don’t get sick again. Last program I did and had to take some antibiotics. :(

Am I talking too much? I feel like I am turning this into an online journal. Tell me how this works Kelsey? Help me understand.
